The eradication of ticks becomes necessary when it comes to ensuring a safe environment in the backyard, on the farm or in public spaces. Ticks are not only annoying parasites, but also a serious health threat. Their bites are often unnoticeable but can have serious consequences:

Lyme disease: one of the most common tick-borne diseases in Lithuania. If left untreated, it can cause damage to joints, heart and nervous system.
Tick-borne encephalitis: this viral infection can cause inflammation of the brain, long-term neurological disorders or even death.

Certified insecticides: these are the most effective products that kill ticks quickly and remain effective for a long time. It is important to choose only those approved for use in the European Union and which are safe for the environment.
Natural repellents: lavender, rosemary, mint, eucalyptus or lemongrass oils can be used as additional protection, but they are shorter-acting and usually only repel ticks, not kill them.
Plants that repel ticks: lavender, chrysanthemum, sage can be planted in the plot or yard to naturally reduce the number of ticks in the environment.
Physical measures: keeping lawns neatly trimmed, shrubs thinned, branches and leaves removed - simple but very effective prevention.

When is the best time to kill ticks?
